This project involved the creation of a brandmark to represent a specific UN Sustainable Development Goal. The goal I analyzed and visualized throughout this semester was the fourth one, quality education for all. This was my first time experiencing the iterative process of creating a brandmark, and I went through many different versions of it before I ended up with my finalized brandmark. Creating something to visualize such an important idea while also creating visualizations that incorporated that brand identity was an enlightening experience.

The iterative process of this project was something I learned a lot from. It helped me realize that in order to create a successful visual brandmark, you can't just hop into Illustrator and start designing. You need to first figure out the key components you want to visualize, mind mapping really helped me break down such a large concept into digestible pieces.

UN Goal 4: Quality Education Brand Standards Guide
An important aspect of this project was the creation of a brand standards guide for our chosen UN Goal as well. Creating this brand standards guide helped me realize the intricate details that must be detailed in order to create a cohesive visual system.
Signature & Area of Isolation
The Quality Education signature is comprised of two parts. That of the pictorial mark and the logotype. The two parts of this signature may be separated from one another depending on the use case.
The area of isolation is calculated by the width of the a in the first half of the type lockup in the word “Quality”.
Color Usage
There are 4 colors used in the Quality Education Signature, and are the only approved colors. Red is used to symbolize the flames of education and wisdom, while blue symbolizes the limitless possibilities of wisdom.
Typography
Type used in the Quality Education Signature comprises of Roboto Bold and Roboto Regular. Century Gothic Regular and Century Gothic Bold is used as the supporting typography in the Quality Education visual system.
